Wada Hanami (和田 はなみ) is one of the two main protagonists in Jubilee Pretty Cure!
Her alter ego is Cure Cherry (キュアチェリー) and has power over flowers, in particular cherry blossoms.

Biography[]

Personality[]

Hanami is a competitive eater, but has been under some stress trying to keep up. Unable to work under pressure, she put her talents to use for the festival. She's quite timid outside of the scene, but has a strong, optimistic heart that can't seem to stay still. While her spirit is strong, she's significantly weaker physically, but tries to put up with it if it means being able to help (mostly) anyone that needs it.

Etymology[]

Wada (和田) - From 和 (wa), which can be translated to "harmony" or "peace", and 田 (da), which translates to "rice field".

Hanami (はなみ) - Most likely refers to the Japanese festival of the same name, written in Kanji as 花見 (hanami), and translates to "flower viewing".

Relationships[]

Uh, I'll just add the basic stuff for now and add on later!
Wada Yoshino - Slightly younger twin sister

Wada Kazuo - Younger brother

Cure Cherry[]

Transformation[]

Rinrinrin! Pretty Cure, Soul Ringer! (りんりんりん! プリキュアソウルリンガー!)

Attacks[]

Items[]

Lucky Bell (ラッキーベル)
Used to transform into Cure Cherry. The bell is stored in a pocket bag on her left side of her dress after transforming.

Cure Bachi (キュアバチ)
Primary attack item, allows Cure Cherry to perform most finishers.

Light Charger (ライトチャージャー)
Can be used by Hanami, either civilian or transformed, to quickly restore someone's energy. Mostly used in emergency cases.

Trivia[]

  • Unlike her sister, Hanami, coincidentally, shares her name with the very festival her Cure form is based on (Hanami, the flower viewing festival, also known as the cherry blossom festival).
  • The bag that Hanami carries around usually has snack foods that she brings to keep her energy up and help her prepare for eating competitions.
